I remember getting fed up of battle anime and wanting to watch something different. Elfen Lied and Girls Bravo were two I remember watching when I was a little older.

Aquarion Evol feels like one that's lost to time. Whiel I loved the first Aquarion, Evol takes itself way less seriously and it's so much better for it. Kawamori is one of my favourite directors and this felt like such an extension of everything he was doing back in the 80s with Macross.

The original series is so much fun, especially Musashi and Kojiro. I loved this wee Rose of Versailles reference.
