👇 is my lib btw. It uses beforeinput events to manage the keyboard stuff, except for composition events. I was able to get rid of a lot (but sadly not all 😥) of the IME side-effects by deleting the range before I let the IME take over that text node. If you wanna talk shop 👉 bigmistqke on discord.

If u have access to an android phone I would use that one to test. All keyboard interactions are composition events on there for some unknown reason. Will help u with the IME stuff too.

In case you have figured out how to handle with IME behaviors, please lmk 😅 it really irks me I haven't found a proper way how to deal with these yet.

I m making the mistake of trying to write a contenteditable too. It's all fun and games until IME/composition-events are involved 😢 for example, when you select markup and start a composition event, the browser can generate a bunch of DOM elements with inlined styles.

wasn't that the point of these ads? keep a lot of whitespace so people vandalize it, so people share it online so they spread their message?
