Still feel like this tune's underdiscussed. The instrumental being, like, drumless jersey (until the bridge) gives everything so much jerky momentum while still being super light. Cees' asshole verse also balances the track out super well. A track of the decade tbh!

Im still not fully satisfied with that but i think i need to reread. I am coming at this as someone who deeply loves the heightened emotions of the con space , even (espscially) as ive been burned by it many times. I think some amount of disparity between social groups is normal, good! even.

I dont think there was a hyenaagenda specifically , but thats due to a lack of means more than anything else. I know that halloween accessories, ears n tails n such, were used as a very similar coding system. And like, there were big interfandom memetics and such.

I think many of the stresses youre talking about can be attributed to, like, this being the only party some nerds have ever been to. The isolating experience may in part be people realizing in real time they dont like big loud parties. If i could call anything here Projection it may be that.

Like ANE and MFF are massive events, but Americans especially will generally have a chill local con to haunt. I don't think either sort of con will be for everyone. I think it's cool big blowout attention hogging cons are able to exist now! Idk

Print on demand definitely made it quicker to finalize a brand, but branding has always been the name of the game in furry. The only real difference in the 80's was that there was less money to go around.

Also i dont like how not fucking with a large conspace is treated like a point of failure.

I think this piece generally does a great job of describing the maleability of our community's social roles, but i disagree that furry has gone through an extreme transformation in how we approach commerce.

im always skeptical of sequel lps, but Eusexua easily couldve been an hour long (rare to get a pop record that really does feel like its own universe), so, cautiously excited for Afterglow.
