I am convinced the main reason it's been hard to add another state is because 50 is such a nice round number and humans are weird in that we really like nice round numbers. If we ever get to 51 I think we'd probably end up at like 54 with a wave of new states, not just one.

Decoder Ring did an episode all about this recently. As you said EVERYTHING is promoting how much protein is has. Comical to try and suggest anyone is biased AGAINST protein in 2026.

Dems should take all its fudning and use it to quintouple immigration courts. It allows them to defund lawless ICE and also have an actual plan on immigration.

I had a similar thought, which is a bummer because it wouldn’t have mattered. The first couple years of a new decade are always defined by the previous decade. 90/91 were (culturally) still a lot like the 80’s!

Based on the finale, I think they made every timeline decision with the goal of ending the show at a HS graduation and write backwards from there, which I think was a mistake. The ages didn’t bother me until they started talking about them explicitly in the text of the show.

Goes without saying that anyone driving a Tesla from the past years gets major side eye from me (you can tell because they have updated tail lights), but there has been so little innovation of their cars. Simply introducing more buttons (like a real car!) would be a huge improvement!

The Halo ones are still extra painful. It would be so easy for MS to send a C&D to get the gov to stop using their IP!

What’s your opinion on a similar policy at the national level? I agree a state level wealth tax probably wouldn’t work because it’s too easy to move to another state, but I think it’s worth calling the bluffs of the ultra wealthy who claim they’d leave the country for a 2% national wealth tax.

I think the resistance to the style of minivans comes from the moms who don't want to be seen as "soccer moms" (which has become one of those things that doesn't really mean anything). Dad's love the vans cause they have more tech.

The future on $70k EVs is foggy. If anyone actually tried selling a $20k EV like they have in other countries I guarantee they would outsell traditional cars.

I am 100% serious when I say I absolutely could not believe that in a movie called “Fire and Ash”, the final set piece didn’t take place on or near that big volcano. The third act is almost identical to TWoW. My favorite part was the stuff in the industrial colony because it was new &different!
