An indie game dev working on Innerlight, a furry genderqueer dungeon crawler! Demo due out July 2025, follow for progress updates.
New art by @bigdragby.bsky.social; my mspaint placeholder for Lowell and then my artist's first draft. Really like him a lot more, reflects his personality better, and it's a very nice hat.

We're doing first drafts for all the PCs, then revisions to make them all fit nicely together as a cast.

I just added manual mapping. It's optional, you can turn on an automap, but drawing your own map in-engine gives me warm fuzzies.

In playtesting, I'm finding that it's a lot more engaging this way. It's like going back to Wizardry 1, only now the graph paper is built in!

Just about a year since I set The First Hero aside, and I kinda miss working on it <3

I should make a new build that bundles in the Java JRE. I couldn't get that figured out at the time, but I guess a big problem with my last release is that .jar files are hard to use these days

Got some more portraits palettized for character customization, aka sparkledog generator

The idea is that you can set your palette and accessories and they'll follow you as you transform

My voice modulation sounds kinda robotic, and I'm not sure if I can improve it.

Audio engineers, is this a case of Godot sucking? Do I need higher quality / higher sample rate audio? Or is this just the best you can do without a lot of budget and manual audio engineer work for each file?

More NPC and enemy art from BigDragBy: The temple matron, annoyed that you're disrespecting your gifts. A rat assassin who goes after your back row (you might want to shuffle your tank backwards and your casters forward, or use a skill to reduce back row damage). #gamedev #furry

Transformancer now has front and back rows for enemies. Targeting back-row enemies with physical attacks when there's a front row standing only does half damage, so "kill the casters first" is no longer the only obvious choice.

We're on track with assets and coding, so as long as RL doesn't intervene in unexpected ways, we're going to put out a Transformancer demo to a couple of streamer friends in three weeks. Still wanna work a while longer before the full public prototype, but I want to get it in front of some eyes!

Exploring the rat warrens in Transformancer, dodging a big enemy by making it follow us around a pillar. Don't see elevations much in dungeon crawlers. Also featuring the new dynamic colors on player portraits!
