I'm not sure the UK would benefit from making the US their foe. Size matters. And with us out of the EU, we'd soon learn what isolation means in every sense. Trump is provocative: sometimes, it's best not to rise to it. But as far as Ukraine is concerned, let's hope we stand firm.

Like Rory, I had cataract surgery this year on 1 eye when the iStent was also fitted.Alongside eye drops, it is relieving the pressure that would eventually cause blindness. I'm listed for the same op (cataract + iStent) for the other eye. We are lucky in 2025 to have these interventions available.

As someone from a family with serious eye issues, I am constantly grateful for the strides that have been made in opthamological surgery. Both my grandmother and my mother went blind from their glaucoma, and my mother's siblings all had it, or ARMD. I, too, have it - but now have an iStent fitted.

It is a wonderful operation that literally changes one’s world view. Very pleased it went as well for you as it has done for so many, including me. Am still waiting for the second op, but had a text just this morning that gives me hope that I’m near the top of the waiting list:)

The person claiming this is Alex EDMANS, so there's a typo in the quoted piece

Thank you, Rory, for taking the time and trouble to lighten my Sunday morning (and I'm sure I speak on behalf of your - and Sophie's - thousands of followers)
Have a lovely rest of the day! :)

She’s still thinking about the carpet monster.

She's being a pretty standard dog, to be fair. Especially given that she's not the most laid-back canine. Hoovers and their noise are very scary when you've no idea why they are there, invading your space and making threatening sounds.
Don't worry, Sophie - we've got your back 😘

You'll be judged by your words. Frankly, I'm not impressed.

Please remind me of Mr. Polanski's qualifications as an economist - or indeed anything else related to financial matters?

I think it's lovely that people visit graveyards, with or without a dog. Otherwise those buried there tend to be forgotten. And so many of them would have been dog lovers.
It's just another way of looking at this.

Aha! I see Sophie is now no-egg, kibble-instead Sophie!
Glad she found the graveyard smells had much to offer her today.
