Silent Hill is a gamble in their eyes. They don't fucking care for it, they don't understand it, they don't get why people like it sometimes. But they sure as shit are going to rake in all the positive press-

To me, it seems irresponsible to let inexperienced/uninterested people take the reigns of massive, established franchises and be told do with it as they want. I try to support smaller projects because I want to see people's visions when not restrained by mass appeal and mainstream expectations.

I take huge issue with this "You're mad because the world has left you behind" line of thinking because a) I'm not that old and b) It serves to just lower the bar of expectations? Like you're telling me "This is the best we can do atm" and you wonder why people just keep turning back to the past?

This rhetoric only really works with indie works with small teams and not these massive production houses with arrogant executives that don't actually care about art and are perfectly comfortable letting specific individuals take the fall while they wash their hands and move onto the next product.
