Active courts and Congress asserting their co-equal checks and balances authority along with the 1st, 4th, and 5th Amendments to the constitution is how we keep tyrrany at bay. The 2nd Amendment is not worth the paper it's written on. Maybe great for hunters and defense of your home, not much else

History shows the guard and military will refuse virtually no order given by their command. They are put into an impossible conflict between absolute obedience to commands and discretion to refuse to obey illegal orders. This is how incidents like Kent State happen.

There are 3000 ICE Agents in Minnesota, unless you want a civil war there are limits to what Waltz can do and if such violence breaks out Trump can call out the regular military and nationalize the guard so there are limits to what can be done.

They can also tell that to ICE (who isn't the Border Patrol) who has been drawing down on unarmed observers and carrying assault weapons meant for the front lines of a war zone, not American cities carried by regular police. ICE is not a wing of the military and needs to stop acting like it.

It's not the citizens job to diffuse. It's the job of ICE. It's the citizens job to be non-violent and provoke an undue unjustified response. ICE can diffuse the situation entirely by just leaving.

Give cops (or anyone for that matter) carte blanche and they will assume they have carte blanche until someone stops them. They believe they are above the law so don't be surprised when they act like it.
