The game is not for destiny players and that's a good thing. It's for a hardcore pvp playebase and that dried up from destiny 5 years ago (give or take)

People said for years that destiny 2 PvP isn't supposed to be competitive or balanced. They said to go play a different game if we wanted that. I think many people did just that and it hurt Bungies bottom line.
Lots of folks started playing destiny off of Halos good graces as both an A+ pvp game.
