I’m guessing he’ll have lots of great one-on-one meetings with lots of great people.

That’s too bad. The burden of proof should be on the person claiming infringement, and require of them more than just the fact that you performed the same public domain piece.

Made it through the abstract. The author demonstrated a knowledge of words and the ability to place them on paper.

Thanks. Got it. Both are separate, different derivative works from the same public domain work. I’d make sure you have a program listing the specific reference to the sheet music you are playing, including where you got it from.

This is odd… I’d imagine that the license for software allows use of the software.

My question would be whether you are using newer arrangements or orchestrations of the centuries old works. These are derivative works, and may have copyright associated with them.

I suspect the markets will yawn at this and keep going. They don’t seem to respect Trump, or at least suspect he will stay the course. After last spring, who can blame them. Trump announced bad news one day, good news the next, bounced the market and the insiders profited.

I see the farce. Where was the tragedy?
January 18, 2026 at 3:37 AM
I would be surprised if big money was behind this. Big money should favor open markets.
January 18, 2026 at 12:25 AM
I can’t imagine an administration where staff would allow this to happen. The clear message is that Trump is cheap. He could be bought with a couple of pages from a laser printer and a bauble in a nice frame.

This is as bad as the picture of him putting the FIFA peace prize on himself.

The Venezuelans in Florida are like the supporters of the crown prince of Iran… out of the loop. Heck, just like the Iraqi dude Bush supported years ago.

Most beat cops aren’t walking around with them strapped to their body. Heck, it would seem awkward to carry them into a mass confrontation situation… in the least, they limit mobility. They would also be easy to grab by the protestors in close quarters.

Carrying them doesn’t make sense.

Given? Maybe self provisioned?
January 15, 2026 at 6:56 PM
Maybe Trump can convince republicans that the elections have been cancelled.
January 15, 2026 at 6:49 PM
Funny thing to say. By definition, isn’t fiction “made up as they go along”?

Because of the expanded format, there are very few games in the group stage that are intriguing. It’s hard to imagine anything exciting until the knockout stage. Of course only rabid partisans will come over.

People need to wear Google glasses to film ICE going forward.
January 13, 2026 at 8:37 PM
A Masters alone should qualify for GS-9 (~$53k). Based on experience, you should qualify at GS-11/12 level. There are a handful of program analyst jobs on USA Jobs at VA at those levels. A problem is USA jobs web site and titling of federal jobs. The other issue is the jobs are competitive.

My understanding was that the mice spared no expense. They need to call Slartibartfast and see whether this is covered under Magrathea’s warranty.

I think of the opening paragraph of ‘Long Dark Teatime of the Soul’ every time I go to the airport.

I think it struggled without Douglas Adams. He had an irreverent point of view that was insightful, humorous, and deprecatory at the same time.

Offer him a job. He’s got skills.
January 11, 2026 at 7:54 PM
Anyone doing this should live stream it so there is a record copy.

Also, has anyone checked to see if any of the Jan 6 pardonees are in the database of federal employees? Or check their current employment to see if they are working for a government contractor to ICE?
January 9, 2026 at 7:11 PM
But is he as able to bring out Trump’s voters?

Relevant rules of acquisition…
34 - War is good for business.
35 - Peace is good for business.
76 - Every once in a while, declare peace. It confuses the hell out of your enemies.
109 - Dignity and an empty sack is worth the sack.
289 - Shoot first, count profits later.

Why does everyone carry some long rifle? You’d think it would be awkward escorting a cuffed perp with one. Plus, how many guys do they need? There are plenty of dudes with long rifles in the periphery to keep the lone perp in line.
