Nice collage. What do you use to incorporate both video and stills?

Do you mean Paramo’s Halcon Jacket?

All of mine have had a buttoned waistband which often delights in popping open to alert the wearer to one’s weight gain.

Over time, the pocket zips and pant leg zips have disintegrated on all my pairs, bearing in mind mine are very heavily used per year… And then there’s the inevitable-at-some-point ripping of the crotch whilst straddling barbed wire fences!

Poor! One plus of these wellies thus far is I am finding the insulating qualities of the sole to be better than any other previous welly I can remember using, based on 14hrs over three days standing in same spot.

Astonished yours have lasted 25yrs+!! Not knocking the product, they’ve been my default waterproof trouser for 20yrs, and I’m wearing a pair as I type(😆), but I’ve been through at least 3 pairs in that time!

🤦‍♂️ I hadn’t thought of that, thanks! Still, it shouldn’t be necessary in the first place! How long had you had the Arctic Sport before they leaked?
November 25, 2025 at 5:35 PM
Didn’t think I’d be the only one! I’m already of the opinion they simply cannot be worn next to the skin. Must be down to the neoprene design of the upper welly. Very disappointing for a Welly costing £135!

I’ve never had this before with any wholly rubber welly. It must be the neoprene design of the upper welly in the case of the Arctic Sport. Completely unacceptable for a Wellington costing £135.

At £135 it should absolutely not be necessary. They simply cannot be worn next to the skin. Must be the neoprene design of the upper welly. Bought specifically for short(ish) walks to spots where I’ll be standing around for hours. For the latter, I was impressed by the thermal element of the soles.

As a birder from Lancs, I was blown away by the number of singing Firecrest in the New Forest during a rare trip down south this spring. Worth the journey alone!

Ha!… He said a few years ago, but yes it must be…

Pete Marsh mentions Pete Crooks had a Camargue ringed Yellow-legged Gull on the Lune ‘a few years ago’.

Sounds like a huge future headache for Moth recorders…

How long will Mapmate keep running for seeing as it was retired in Nov 2024? And what’s the best alternative if (when) the time comes?

Excellent. Thanks.

If the Iceland is lingering in the area, it may turn up amongst the loafing Gulls at Seamill foreshore…
