I'm not sure if this is quite right; I think a lot of the new US liberal expectations presume that they are Israeli subjects but that they should not be continually ground to dust with our resources.

They have (and often do have) a perfectly fine electoral strategy, it just relies on selling out their constituents.

They support Israel's right to grant a second state at a time and scale of their choosing, as long as they're under no duress and unconditionally aided by the US at that time.
