I remember as a kid I had to disable the password on our router while I played - I wish they’d have made DSi mode Internet (like Pokémon Gen 5) work for all DS games..

(with my apologies for being a pedant), the DS/Wii WiFi adapter was more about “if you didn’t have WiFi at home”, since WiFi-enabled routers weren’t really common - a DS can connect to any Open/WEP 2.4GHz network (and a Wii any Open/WEP/WPA/WPA2 one)
