Manchester yeah? We really need to talk about this.

Great timing. What can be done to stop this? A 14 year old kid, yet again a kid.

In this talk was there any acknowledgment of the fact that the actions of some Muslims - the bombings, stabbings, killings etc - may bear some responsibility for Islamophobia, and that the wider population has legitimate concerns? There is no Hinduphobia for example that I'm aware of.

Yes I was more referring to the level of spending that the EU provides to restore a functional military. Even then you're talking years. Trump may use the threat of withdrawing from NATO to win concessions in other areas though, it's hard to tell at this early stage.

Sure, done. have a nice weekend.

It's bit of a minefield because much of the research seems to me to be way less than neutral. The link below takes you to a paper by authors who appear to have no axe to grind, and the figures are based on empirical publicly available data over a 20 year period.

My fear is that otherwise - ie. both sides adopt polarised positions - we'll slide into to some serious form of civil unrest. We have a generation of young people who feel that they have little stake or voice in society and these are pre conditions for political extremism of whatever form.

In terms of numbers for overall sex abuse yes. But per capita looking specifically at rape gangs the only unbiased research I have seen points overwhelmingly to Muslim men. However, it's lightning rod for many issues and we need to have the ability and courage to discuss these openly.

I don't agree. The US has underwritten EU security for decades particularly during the Cold War. We can moan about the US but in doing so need to recognise the need for 5% plus defence spending for many years; which will have profound budgetary implications domestically. Principles cost.
February 15, 2025 at 11:43 AM
For sure, these things always have a tactical nature, and I think you're quite right he's throwing things out there to gauge reactions. But I do think they have a relatively entrenched view that Europe should pay much more for its own defence and it's hard to argue with to be honest. All the best.
February 15, 2025 at 11:31 AM
Not directly but thank you anyway. One of my son's classmates died in the Manchester Arena bombing poor kid, but I wouldn't pretend that was the issue. My position is that the threat of Islamic immigration is shied away from for reasons of political correctness. As an example rape gangs in the UK.
February 15, 2025 at 11:23 AM
Europe would need many years of 5% defence spending and I don't see them doing it, certainly not in the UK where I am. It is then a question of whether or not Trump chooses to use the threat of disengagement from NATO to leverage concessions in other areas. Same obviously applies to trade.
February 15, 2025 at 11:17 AM
I don't think Brexit has had much of an impact on this. The key thing is immigration policy. We can clearly see an absence of this kind of terrorism in Poland for example. You may not like their policy but the results cannot be disputed.

He appears to be a rejected asylum seeker? I don't think it matters that much to be honest, the primary issue is that Germany has invited in a demographic that appears to have a disproportionate propensity for extremely violent crime. Should they be there?
February 15, 2025 at 11:02 AM
Thank you. I think US abandonment of NATO would be No1, and in the absence of massively increased European defence spending - whixh people have talked about but never really done consistently - it's not an unreasonable thing for the US to do. However mass immigration is right up there too.
February 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM
I'm from the UK. We have the same problem.

He highlighted that the main threat to Europe is unvetted mass immigration. Is that incorrect in everyone's opinion? He also pointed out the governmental suppression of dissent under the cover of disinformation/misinformation which they decide. Is that also incorrect?

Really ? An Afghan asylum seeker who was refused asylum. This will happen again and again and again. He screams Allah when arrested.

You've really made no point at all. The fact that migration = death is simply based on previous evidence it isn't diversion. These are not 'spurious casualties' they are real German men women and children. You want to sacrifice them for your own political correctness.
February 14, 2025 at 10:22 PM
Ok, I don't think that makes sense. Are you happy to accept a certain number of terrorist attacks and deaths in order to maintain Germany's current immigration policy? If you are, that's ok but how many deaths would you accept each year?
February 14, 2025 at 10:14 PM
Yes, I accept that the USA has mass shootings but I don't see how that is relevant to terrorist attacks in Germany. If the USA could stop school shootings it would. If Germany could stop Islamic terrorism it should?
February 14, 2025 at 10:09 PM
No it doesn't, that was my point. Vance warned about uncontrolled immigration. That has killed and wounded thousands of Germans and will continue to do so. How many deaths are acceptable to you to maintain immigration? 50? 100?
