He has said he has always been uncomfortable with multiculturalism, and had called for Asian migration to stop. He disagrees with people who say racism is a problem in Australia because that hasn’t been his experience. Why would anyone listen to him about social cohesion?!

John Howard pushed for the invasion of Iraq, which was one of the dominoes which created the conditions for ISIS and caused untold human misery we are still dealing with today. He refused to acknowledge racism was a main driver of the Cronulla riots.

They have been literally targeting and openly slaughtering journalists in Gaza. Which is where they test techniques. It’s normalised now. Why would anyone expect a press jacket to protect you when the press has been silent on what has been happening to their colleagues in Gaza?
If anyone is having trouble following my (increasingly long) thread tracking incidents where police assaulted journalists at protests in Los Angeles this weekend, it's also in spreadsheet form here. This is the more organized version I've been sending to lawyers, agency chiefs, electeds, etc.

Today marks the 77th anniversary of the Nakba—the violent catastrophe that started the expulsion, dispossession, displacement and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people by Israel.

The Nakba is not a history lesson, the Nakba has not ended.

Today on May 15, we mark the anniversary of the Nakba – the catastrophe.

77 years ago, over 750,000 Palestinians were forcibly displaced as the state of Israel was established on land historically recognised as Palestine.

Remember when the stupidest people alive drew on screenshots to explain how Israel didn’t bomb a hospital?
BREAKING: Israel bombed a tent sheltering journalists at Nasser Medical Hospital in Khan Younis, Gaza.

Footage shows the tents engulfed in flames — with a journalist trapped inside, burned alive.

A thread of the many many things that I’ve forgotten Dutton has said
I've spoken to half a dozen LNP MPs who had no idea about the citizen 'referendum' policy Dutton is backing in who all think it is nuts - but that is not the point. None are willing to push back because party stability these days means blind obedience, not challenge.

If you’re looking for some poorly written drivel that apes Nabokov you can have my year 11 English workbook, it’s under a bunch of cockroach shit in my parents’ garage and I’d rather eat it than read a single word of AI “fiction”
The new OpenAI creative writing bot's "short story" has the phrase "democracy of ghosts". It's the sort of phrase that would make me stop and admire it, if I were reading a human author - which, it turns out, I was, because it's from Nabokov's 1957 novel "Pnin".

It found APS productivity isn't impacted by hybrid work & giving employees more autonomy w/ flexibility led to sustained productivity + employee engagement

Congratulations on reaching the point where crimes against humanity are now inside the Overton window.

Well done journalism. You really did your job well. So fearless. Sleep well. (I mean, you have been asleep for decades now so that won't be an issue).
Oh joy, watching the ABC's flagship current affairs show where Sarah Ferguson ask s"Is there any proportion of the Palestinian people in Gaza who would welcome the chance to be relocated?"

How about no, because there is no such thing an ok proportion of ethnic cleansing? #730

Ok but condemning violations of international law, eg forced displacement of Gaza's population, should be consistent w Australia's values

Trump is explicitly proposing to carry out a policy of genocide and it is incumbent on all nations to say no to that. Australia has no other legal or moral choice.
If the Aust Govt does not denounce this immediately, we are complicit in approving ethnic cleansing of a historic level
