Brain Injury Matters is mourning the sudden loss of a great champion of people with an acquired brain injury, their families and the sector in general. Nick was widely respected as leader of @braininjuryaus.bsky.social. Our thoughts are with Nick’s family. He will be missed by many far and wide.

BIM held a pre-wedding BBQ for Jason and Emily before their big day! Jason didn’t think he’d marry after his brain injury. Then he met Emily at Narre Warren bowling alley. It was love at first sight! Congratulations Jason and Emily on your marriage on 23rd October 2025! We wish you every happiness.

Five years ago, Tommo used a wheelchair. Recently, he ran 100km. He says the run was not unlike the process and determination it took to come back from a brain injury ‘You can't give up’. It's not useful for everyone, but he encourages people to try ParkRun ‘It’s a great way to continually improve’.
