Another funny thing is people keep recommending books to read and just… not korean ones? And i’m like… come on folks. Rec some of them. At least one. You gotta work in at least one to every post. It’s not that hard. You could do julia riew’s the last tiger!

listen that’s the least of my problems with the amount of… just everything else.

I SAID IT WAS BAD JENN. IT’S SO BAD. THERE’S SO MUCH OF IT. PEOPLE ARE SO WEIRD.
June 27, 2025 at 9:09 PM
Two jenn! Two! Two seperate chun-li costumes! And when people pointed it out they’re like ‘well i don’t own a hanbok so how was i supposed to cosplay it?’ IDK JUST WEAR A BLUE SHIRT. OR MAYBE DON’T?
June 27, 2025 at 8:57 PM
It gets worse AND funnier. There are not one but TWO separate women cosplaying the tiger wearing a chunli costume. I also saw a girl wearing ukiyo-e art earrings. Like… damn girl did you just see asian and go ‘that’s right!’

especially bc, just gonna put this out there, people still wear that hat. Mostly for religious purposes. You’ll see it especially at weddings and when mudang wear it. Like yes? People rent it as a costume piece, but for like… visiting castles.

But most of my friends in the humanities never learnt anything like this bc humanities work includes less data manipulation. And that’s fucking dangerous. We’ve set people out into the world not teaching them how to read basic statistics.
June 27, 2025 at 12:52 AM
This, however, is not something most humanities classes outside of college-level courses will teach you. I learnt about this kind of thing from science classes and research bc of my work with large data sets.

Polling data can easily be skewed based on who decided to answer the poll and where the people who decided to answer the poll are from. What you need is actual voting data, the literal numbers given on who voted.
June 27, 2025 at 12:52 AM
Like so often I get people saying to me ‘Asian men voted democrat more than Asian women in the 2024 election’ and when I ask for a citation they give me the CBS exit polls from the 2024 election. Here’s the issue with that: exit polls aren’t voting statistics.
June 27, 2025 at 12:52 AM
People struggle to read statistics or basic scicomm articles in a way that won’t be solved by having them read Jane Austen. We have to teach people science better than we currently are.

i’d appreciate that! I do have contacts inside both programs, but like…. Damn
