Im rather skeptical we will learn anything (at least not anything good) so im not asking for shit. I didn't like doing that anyway but nova's treatment was pretty cut and dry, and not like, "are we gonna diagnose a parakeet with cancer" type shit

ive been poking the comm with a stick for weeks trying to make it "feel" worthwhile, more spectacular but balanced, etc, but really seeing these is like oooh yeah . there's a billion more details in the wip than in my old art in the same style

and in case anyone sees this image above and somehow interprets it as me having any codes, no, i dont. i havent heard back from the bungie creator thing since last year when it opened! but my stylized comms are about the same price.

i cant really do another mini fundraiser with art prizes again sadly, im teaching now and got a big comm lined up to hopefully offset more birdy vet bills on wednesday with still 3.5 to finish

TLDR this work is the opposite of the workflow I then spent 2 years developing, so feels super flawed and underdeveloped. And it is neat to see the through line of my artistic potential + practical skill w/ paints compared across time. I did improve! Wish the world did not make me fight this hard

So to come back to personal work, I have to unpack these ideas while diagnosing the image & working out what it needs in terms of making a new version of it, a branch of the original, as I consider it a flawed version of the digital, and both flawed for the fuller emotional core.

with the unfortunate turn for the arts in the last 2 years, finding that meaning became more difficult, while more important to present w/ pure emotion and humanity. that’s not strictly the only thing worth doing in my or anyone’s work, but it has made me more thoughtful on an artwork’s endpoint
