The problem with doing silly little world building projects is that it poisons your brain to reject the whimsy of the story.

Like yes I am questioning the logistics but that's because I have brainrot, not a fault in the narrative (nor the fault of the author).

My only beef with AO3 is whoever decided to combine the Breath of the Wild tag with Tears of the Kingdom to make The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom is much more enjoyable now that the US is shredding itself apart. Yeah yeah there's a powerful man using stolen power to change the landscape of Hyrule but I'm just out here helping people with their daily needs whilst prepping to kill the abominations he's unleashed.

That being said: if someone proves themselves to be acting in Bad Faith, then it costs you nothing to have acted in good faith. We live in a world where screenshoting exists, you are capable of disengaging without poisoning yourself. Yes this goes for me too.

I say this as someone who is genuinely fairly intelligent and also very stupid: sometimes brains are dumb, and people misunderstand or misinterpret. Instead of going on the offense, acting in good faith is paramount to actually clarifying misunderstandings.

You have people on one side desperately trying to earnestly and sincerely communicate, while on the other side are people who cannot take that sincerity at face value, because everyone's become poisoned with the thought people must be purposely misunderstanding.

While I don't want to place the blame solely at the feet of this cycle, I do think it's integral to the entire landscape of human communication. Sincerity and authenticity are paramount to interpersonal communication - when that breaks down, everyone is left floundering.

Worst thing about social media is that it trains you to be on the defensive for Bad Faith. This, in turn, turns YOU into a Bad Faith interpreter, thus completing the ourosboros.

My hope is that all of this factors into some of the fence-sitting justices on SCOTUS for big upcoming cases.
