Some might call me “woke” and I am fine with that. Democrat. Americans, 🇺🇸 we need more COURAGE. Passionately anti-Fascist. Proud granddaughter of a WWII US Navy veteran.

One of the most painful parts of my youth was being the poor relation in a family of rich relatives. My grandparents took care of me, got me into a private college. Some relatives rooting for me to fail. Angry I got any help at all. Insulting me, my mom & sibs at family dinners at the country club.

🤭 My Midwest college year abroad program in Spain shared classes in the Universidad de Granada with Dartmouth students there for only 1 semester. I know what you’re talking about. We were, by far, the better students. Those kids wanted nothing to do with us. And we were cool with it. 🤷‍♀️

The richer students looked down on us Middle Class and Student Aid recipients. So economics definitely played a part. I was dumped after a first date by a guy who discovered I wasn’t in a prestigious club and just a run of the mill girl from town. 🤷‍♀️

That is so interesting! Because I was raised by a liberal grandmother and a conservative grandfather. I went to a Liberal Arts university - even though most students were conservative- I became an independent thinker. My guess is privileged students tend to cluster together in clubs and cliques.

Yup. Comes from the top. But also, been baked into their culture for decades. In my university 1980’s, the young Republicans on campus included some of most sexist, racist, privileged and badly behaved frat bros. In part that’s why I voted Dem when I cast my first vote in 1984.

Republicans??? Republicans? You vote for this? And looks like the Argentine economy will still fail - so $20 BILLION US taxpayer dollars down a black hole. 🕳️
