I was just informed a couple hours ago that they came from jjk fandom or whatever, I only knew the format from people criticizing american football players 😔

this came up on the deus ex podcast where I mentioned that the game wasn't that hard and then later said that I had quick-saved nearly 900 times 😂

are they actually narratively tied? I was hoping to just skip straight to lunacy bcs the hidden souls games seemed pretty rough 😂

Lunacy came across my feed recently and I'm very interested to try that

the most disturbing thing about kojima is that he saw otacon on screen and steadily turned the "Freudian Psychosexual Inadequacy" dial up for 10 years straight

the nice thing about existing in enthusiast spaces many years after the sequelitis video is that oot is a bit of an unusual pick nowadays

it's so cool seeing what an alternate universe foundation for 3d graphics could have been (a hyper-charged descendant of super-scalers where affine transformation becomes the main polygon generation tool) but yea unorthodox, inefficient, and no good docs for programmers

suda (much like contemporaries like taro and, with a defter hand, kojima) lacks literary voice and feels more like he's injecting concepts into games as a medium out of practicality (read: he already worked in it) rather than having a dedication to the written word

hard agree on the writing early on, it turned me off too. what it does with the blobber look and feel on top of the adventure elements is (sometimes) interesting, but...

I enjoy the actual second-to-second combat (the stagger->melee loop) after all this time and I can clearly see a less mistake-prone version (I'm just middling) but the repeat runs lag at the start and feel trapped in one area. some people in the server weren't big on raw stagger->melee either

it's nothing major, I think it being sandwiched between late reg and 808s, each with very distinct sonic palettes, is a disservice bcs of how relatively unfocused it is. it's not a trend-chasing record but still feels like a commercial appeal with a thick electronic sound that doesn't appeal to me

looking this up now, it's a little tactless but it's honestly nice that someone is attempting to chart the landscape of the modern BL review scene, even if it's somewhat newhead/f4fspam oriented

the only good thing about u3 pro no merchant is that its knife loop made this one feel nice and breezy

graduation is ass, I don't know why that's always people's pick
