Survive is more of a visual novel than anything. The other two are connected in ways and I highly recommend them.

I.e borderlands is presented as a cell shaded game. The art style doesn't change from game to game because it's always cell shaded.

COD has always followed the game art style. The look of the game changes, obviously, but the art style is very much the game. You've confused art style over the games setting when in reality it is how the game is presented.

Most franchises certainly do not change their art style. They update it along with graphics over the years but rarely change it. That's like saying the next COD will be cellshaded and the one after that will be 2-D pixel art.

Yeah because they're gonna change the art style of a well known game series. 🤦
