Today, the U.S. Space Force celebrates its 6th birthday! 🎉 The newest branch of our military ensures America's national security in space, and it protects communications & GPS, on which we rely every day. It was an honor to welcome these Guardians this week & thank them for their service.

This week, I voted against a bill pushed by GOP leadership that not only failed to extend ACA tax credits, but also threatened to leave patients with less protection, destabilize the insurance market, and put Americans on the hook for big medical bills not covered by insurance.

Today, I met w/ JS Link America, a global manufacturer of rare earth permanent magnets about their planned facility in Columbus. The project is expected to 520+ jobs in Muscogee County & strengthen GA’s role in U.S. supply chains for aerospace, mobility, & energy w/ worker safety as a top priority.

This bill would allow veterans to get their full disability pay and retirement pay without one being subtracted from the other.
For those not familiar with veterans’ retirement compensation, veterans receive two main types – retirement pay and disability pay. Currently, if a veteran’s disability is rated less than 50%, then whatever the dollar value is in disability pay is subtracted from their retirement pay.

Today, I met with the GA Beverage Association. This industry is a huge part of GA’s economy from management & marketing to manufacturing & bottling. Unfortunately, tariffs and ongoing inflation have made life more expensive for Georgians and tough on our businesses, including the beverage industry.
