Luckily, I saved the ESSAY I typed up for them.
I was an early adopter of Discord. Someone who leaned over to their friend group and said "Hey, Skype sucks. Let's go over to these guys who seem to be holding to all the promised features in their roadmap." We even gave up on video calling for a while, because we knew you were gonna bring it over in the near future. But now that competition has dried up, you seem to be getting comfortable with more and more abysmal choices that do NOTHING to improve the user experience. You're now choosing to get an IPO on the stock market. Which, a company going public has only ever meant good things for the end user. /sarcasm And now, like all the tech sector before you, you're diving face-first into throwing unnecessary AI garbage into your product. None of the suggested uses would actually enhance or enrich the user experience in any way. And it would end up being another set of data-harvesting tumors that would erode the performance of the app. It would encourage a young audience to stop thinking and let a computer do everything. You literally have an entire section of your survey dedicated to highlighing tons of reasons why AI is BAD. All of which are valid concerns, and then some. Like I mentioned, the main thing not highlighted in that list is the fact that the most successful AI technology got to where they are today by stealing unfathomable amounts of content from the internet. Content that these companies do not have any ownership of. And if you're gonna tell me "We're basing our tech off of our own in-house data set! It's TOTALLY ethical, guys!", then I'd say you're either lying, or you're using the data of all your users to pull off these tricks. I'm unhappy with either of these options. Kindly take all this AI scheming and toss it into the nearest furnace. Let this AI bubble pop like it's supposed to.
