Behold, the Cisco FastHub 108T from 1997 - when 100Mbps shared bandwidth was cutting-edge and we lived without VLANs or auto-negotiation. Almost 30 years later, this single collision domain relic really shows how spoiled we've become with modern networking. (Yes, that's an OUI transceiver on top 🙂)

With Selector's Network DVR you can go back in time to see previous states of the network. If a network path changed, you can see that and the insight is based on real device forwarding state, not just ICMP based tools like traceroute or ping. #NFD37

"Needle in a stack of needles" @automateyournetwork.ca is not wrong. Finding the data that you need while working on the network requires looking in a lot of different places these days. #NFD37

Versa Networks has an incredible amount of integrated functionality under the hood so you really can consolidate a lot of boxes and licensing into a single platform cost effectively. #NFD37

Interesting insight on quantum networks vs conventional networks of today. You can't amplify or repeat qubits so there are distance limitations. Hundreds of kilometers terrestrially, thousands of kilometers if via satellite. Today's quantum networks will be stay metro or regional for now. #nfd37

BT has been working on quantum communications for a long time. They are utilizing Toshiba kit for quantum key distribution (QKD) and feel it is best in class for this application. #nfd37

"Harvest Now, Decrypt Later" is a big risk. We have to get to quantum encryption sooner than later to minimize the exposure of data encrypted now that can be cracked later by quantum computers. #nfd37

Spending time with the ones you love is so important. Essential, actually. Just got back from spring break with my family and it was so fulfilling. We went to Joshua Tree, CA which is just an incredibly beautiful place. You have to take the time to slow down, get away from the grind and unplug.

Another exhibit from Jason's vault of personal electronics history. This my first laptop, the Zenith Data Systems Masters Port 386SL 💻 It doesn't even boot anymore but I can't bear to part with it. Is anyone else out there an electronics hoarder like me? 😂

Anyone recognize this? ☎️ Looks like a Radio Shack Tone Dialer but it's a legendary "Red Box". A 6.5khz crystal mod made it speak the language of payphones. One * press = nickel, two = dime, five = quarter in phone switch tones. Saved me countless quarters on long distance calls back in the 90s!
