Oh god I've had WFC and FOC in my ebay cart for weeks now, this is sending me one step closer to buying themmm
March 1, 2025 at 7:42 AM
Oh I'll absolutely take you up on that! If you see me drop a message to you it's probably babbling about an update haha
March 1, 2025 at 7:20 AM
Absolutely agree! It's the kind of in depth writing that I have no doubt I could read a fic in a fandom I have no context for, but still understand the motivation and drive for the characters and be actively invested in it.

I have had nobody to talk to about this fic, so this is a joy! Haha

Both on the boat of "The way you write is a work of ART"
a cartoon character says it 's art in front of a red wall

Little successes to keep the writing bug active is a great tactic. I'm thinking I need to do the same with the animation I'm working on, take a break to put out a quick finished piece before spending another 15 hours cleaning frames haha

Wouldn't that be the dream, you wake up and it's done

There is far more in ACL that really draws me to it, but here were a few from the top of my head.

...Apparently I woke up this morning with big thoughts.

Anyway, thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

4. The sex: Going beyond the writing being spectacular, the sex is quite intimate in the sense that the characters involvement in the scene isn't just the physical action, but the sensation and thoughts that accompany it. The characters as a whole are there, not just the bodies.

Whilst his team are being supportive, there is still the undercurrent tension as they figure out how they're feeling about all this, too. Optimus isn't being tarred and feathered, but he also isn't being let off the hook and having it all glossed over.

3. The balance of conflict and support: As the title suggests, Optimus is dealing with some pretty heavy consequences after some poor decision making. Not only is he sparked up, but he is also now permanently attached to his enemy and his team are somewhat forced to be along for the ride with him.
February 28, 2025 at 8:35 PM
Example: Optimus' panic (felt that), his confusion, his anger at being treated differently, and his frustration at his body not operating how he wants it to because it's changing. Bumblebee being a bit grossed out by the concept and it not being demonised by the others who differ in opinion.

2. The discussion of pregnancy: It isn't just used as a trope and is very well thought out. As somebody who has been pregnant a couple of times with complications, it's a tag I usually avoid, but it was actually comforting seeing a diverse response to the topic.
February 28, 2025 at 8:20 PM
Example: Optimus crying. I'm not a big fan of when fiction characterises Optimus as being particularly weepy, but his crying in ACL feels natural, it feels like it's all spilling over and Optimus needs to cry because it's too much, and it's not just done to get a certain response from Megatron.

I've just woken up, so forgive the upcoming ramble.

1. The characterisation: The characters don't feel two dimensional and their reactions/responses feel natural, not just about plot driving. There is real thought behind their actions and motives that breathes into the story it's creating.
