Many years ago I had the pleasure of taking a class at IU-Kokomo with Nikki Giovanni and Ginny Fowler on Black American writers. She remembered me and my friend at a conference years later. What an amazing poet, teacher, and person! She touched so many with poetry. #NikkiGiovanni
