🇮🇸 #Iceland, 1920. Side effects of too much truth include death… in this historical suspense novel set under the Northern lights.

Right side: the cover of ‘Storytellers’ by Bjørn Larssen.

Left side – review quotes:
★★★★★ This story feels like how I would believe Iceland feels to an outsider looking in, rough, dark, and beautiful.
★★★★★ Bjørn Larssen’s “Storytellers”, firmly cements his place as a masterful storyteller in a 20th century saga set in rural and rugged Iceland.
★★★★★ If you don't believe that the blacksmith, a depressive alcoholic, could steal your heart, give this book a try.
★★★★★ This unique tale is storytelling at its best.
★★★★★ Storytellers is an incredible read. I'd love to go to Iceland one day - seeing the Northern Lights is on my bucket list. Even if I never do, though, I feel like I've kind of been there with this book. A suspenseful, hilarious, poignant, extraordinary book.
★★★★★ Hauntingly atmospheric, it somehow shows us all the dark bleakness of the place while inspiring us with wanderlust to see it. The author's love of Iceland shines through.
★★★★★ This exquisite tale comes together brilliantly at the end … in quite a satisfying and impressive way. The reader can feel the heart and soul that went into writing it.
★★★★★ There is something magical and enchanting about Storytellers that makes it an unputdownable book.

My head is currently playing ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ and I actually don’t mind at all. Normally the songs that get stuck in my head irritate me. I clearly don’t have enough of The Life of a Showgirl yet and I’ve played it enough times to get it to #1 in the Netherlands.

@theoatmeal.bsky.social reviews AI art: “I use AI myself. I like using AI (although not AI art). AI is a tool, and like any tool, it can be used for good or for bad. Unfortunately, AI art seems to be headed toward the latter…” A good, deep look into the topic from an artist’s point of view.

As a writer, I have been rejected thousands of times, and it initially led to shock, denial and anger. Then I accepted it. Here’s what you can gain from doing so too

But then he wouldn’t get that Guinness Book of Records entry. I think (haven’t tried recently) it’s possible to type the alphabet in less time than 16 years.

I wonder if there are already people working to defeat him and snatch that Guinness Book of Records title away. I’m sure I could do it in 15 years.

Full of dancing hamster GIFs & a sped-up tune, it became one of the internet’s first viral hits.

One of the best British pop albums ever. My first ever #MusicMonday post was Dubstar’s ‘Not So Manic Now’ from Disgraceful.

I sometimes wonder who I would have become if ‘Asperger’s syndrome’ was already a thing in the 1980s. Back then, if you were verbal and could take care of your basic needs, you couldn’t have been autistic. Quiet ADHD also wasn’t a thing that existed.
