I'm a fan of test driven development but that might be pushing it, lol.

1%'ers live in a completely different world, different rules.

Fair enough, and my gripe isn't with generative music so much as it is with exploitation of the artists who comprise the training sets. There's room to create great art with AI tools, but the IP stealing need to be addressed. Until then it's a bit of a blood diamond issue in my mind.

AI cannot be used (by itself) to create truly original work. It's an amalgamation and distortion of the training set. I agree, using it with intention like a choice of paint brush can be interesting, it becomes part of the process, but that's not why the industry exists and not how it's mostly used.

Who cares? The companies that own the tech don't license the data. Couching the argument as a responsibility of the artists to be ethical gives the robber barons a free pass to short circuit the artistic process with no repercussions, all in service to the profit motive.

They'll make it too big to fail and the gov will bail them all out, meanwhile the retail investors will get destroyed.

So far, it:

hasn't happened
happened but was legal
Happened, was not legal, but was an accident not murder
Happened, was not an accident, but a legal act of self defence
Happened, was fine all along, we just remembered

It's much more meaningful in the original German.

I mean, I'm not in Maine so don't have a real voice in this but sure seems to me folks could find someone better suited, "youthful indiscretion" or not. If elected, always having to have an asterisk next to everything he says is a burden that works against progressive causes, not an advantage.
