To finish my Ivanhoe thread, I tried to find some movie images to show how the jousting armor inspired GRRM, in writing A Hedge Knight. The movies reminded me of the images from the illustrated version. Here are a couple of those.⚔️

Starting today I’m going to check out the Ivanhoe limited series on Prime that came out in 1997. Not having seen it, i’m not sure how good it is. But to its credit, it does have Christopher Lee and Ciaran Hines in it.

I’ve been listening to an audiobook version of Ivanhoe, narrated by James Cosmo, Lord Commander Mormont on Game of Thrones.
