Angel: After The Fall

Damn, a great follow up to the last season of Angel. The change in format really works. It would have been cool to watch this play out on the screen, but it does some cool medium specific things that makes the new format worth it. Excited to read more.

Angel (Season 5)

Season 5 has some real hits. Spike and Angel as allies is a joy. I think the show stayed pretty consistent throughout it's run. Had it kept running they would have had some real bangers with the stuff being set up here. I'll miss you TV Buffyverse. Might check out the comics now.

Final Fantasy IX

Almost everything in this game spirals around it's central theme of existentialism. "Why are we alive" and "What does it mean to live" are some heavy questions in this game. It doesn't have THE ANSWER, but watching these characters try and find their own peace is inspiring.

Angel (Season 4)

Season 4 starts real weird, and has some choices I don't fully agree with. However, once the group is back together and battling the newest apocalypse in town the show hits a higher high than most of Buffy. The final story arc of this season is some really fun and incredible stuff.

Angel (Season 3)

Season 3 is a good time. Good weekly monsters mixed with strong plot advancement. Angel and Wesley's characters go through some developments that I didn't see coming. Ends on a real painful cliffhanger.

Digimon Story Time Stranger

I LOVE DIGIMON!! I've always been more into Digimon than Pokémon. Pokémon has had a vice grip on the world for TOO DAMN LONG. This game was well worth the near decade wait. It really recognizes what makes Digimon special. A wonderful love letter to my favorite franchise.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders

The start of JoJo's golden age. Araki, with Stands, created a great power/narrative system that allows him to massively flex his creativity. David Pro did a great job with PB and BT, but with SC they really went all out. So much love in this adaptation.

Angel (Season 2)

Season 2 is a real roller-coaster ride. Angel goes full Batman, sinks to the depths of depression and nihilism, and after some bad decisions finds purpose again. The last few episodes are such a strange departure, but it's really fun and welcome. I love Charles Gunn he's my fave.

Angel (Season 1)

Angel tries hard to establish itself/himself away from Buffy. My wife said the show feels like a mix of X-Files and Buffy. I agree. I think they had some really great monster of the week episodes. I also love the evil lawyers as an overarching antagonist so far. Great stuff.

Sick. Love this!

JoJo's Bizarre Adventures: Battle Tendency

BT's strongest point for me is that Joseph is so fucking fun to watch on screen. Even with knowledge of later JoJo's he's always remained one of my favorites because of this. The man is just having the MOST FUN fighting deadly opponents.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventures: Phantom Blood

Rewatching all of JoJo in Japanese for immersion. I've always been a bit iffy on PB. I liked it when I first watched it, but compared to other parts it's a little lesser. That being said making Dio absolutely as evil as possible is always effective.

West End Girl by Lilly Allen

A really great album. You can really feel the pain felt by Allen on a lot of these songs. It work that the songs are also so damn catchy. The transition from "Tennis" to "Madeline" is great. "Dallas Major" has been playing in my head for like a week.

Witch Watch (Season 1)

A pretty great adaptation of Witch Watch. This anime gets it right by focusing heavily on the "screw around" chapters. Witch Watch is 85% magic gags and 25% plot. They even did the Uron Mirage stuff justice as well. Looking forward to more denim talk. Wife liked it a lot.

Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc

An amazing adaptation of one of Chainsaw Man's high points. A lot of love went into this one. For sure elevates the source material. Movie's so great that I don't have much to say besides they DID the damn thing. It even got its own cool opening.

Beyblade X (Season 2)

Beyblade X continues to be the strangest of the Beyblade gens. I love the product, but feel mixed on the anime. A lot of stuff I liked about this season and a lot I didn't. Still does a lot of justice to it's side cast. Hoping Bird finally gets a REAL win next season.

Ping-Pong Peril by Yoshiharu Kataoka

Another promising story that fell victim to poor ratings. I REALLY liked this it felt a little JoJo's and a little Kaiji. Even it's rushed ending leaves me wanting more of these extreme ping pong matches. Looking forward to the next series from this mangaka. 頑張る

Pokémon Legends: Z-A

I have a love and hate relationship with Pokémon. I love when they do something new, but it also feels like not enough. I liked Legends Arceus way more, but this one was fun overall. I liked the XY continuation stuff and the last few hours got very Shonen anime flashy and hype.

Black Messiah by D'Angelo and the Vanguard

D'Angelo only made 3 studio albums in his lifetime, and all of them are dope as hell. This one is my favorite of his work. It's also the most unconventional. I hear a lot of TPAB and Awaken, My Love! in this. D'Angelo was truly the blueprint for my faves.

Brown Sugar by D'Angelo

The most traditional and conventional of all D'Angelo's work, but it ain't no slouch. This album provides so many great songs. I already liked the original Cruisin', but D'Angelo's cover is super dope. I see the Voodoo seeds being planted here.

Nodes are very powerful. Combining them like Legos can lead to wonderful results.

GDScript has some of the best documentation I've seen. Don't be afraid to use it.

Voodoo by D'Angelo

What a phenomenal album! Even being over 20 years old it doesn't sound dated whatsoever. It's come to my attention that a lot of, what I like of, Gambino's and Tyler's work was heavily inspired by this album, and that is a fabulous surprise. I love this. RIP D'Angelo.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Season 7)

Buffy goes out on a VERY high note. It's one of those shows that doesn't have a BAD season. Buffy deals with the next generation and another apocalypse. Spike gets a cool redemption arc and The First was a pretty good big bad. Might check out Angel or the comics.

Homestuck

A very interesting, creative, and extremely ambitious project. It constantly oscillates between REALLY CRINGE and some of the most amazing storytelling. The best word I would use to describe this is "self-indulgent" which Hussie also uses in the comic, so at least he's self aware lol.
