Just a guy, with a keyboard, talking about politics and race relations. I was calling myself a liberal back when FOX News tried to make it a slur.

"This little piggy went to the market, this little piggy stayed home, but it didn't matter because the POTUS has plenary authority to send ICE to kick in doors and demand papers from every man, woman, and child-pig in order to protect the native pigg-- Awww...he fell asleep at his favorite part."

That's why I'm begging the media to respond to the antifa-terrorist language with the same "concern" they had with the MAGA-fascist language.

We don't have a policy for fascists. We do have a kill-on-sight policy for terrorists. Only one side is using language that paints a target on the opposition
blackskyeddie.blacksky.app
It's wild how quickly we bounced from "is it wrong to call conservatives fascist?" to "we're officially labeling liberals as a terrorist organization."

It's extra wild because we don't have any official policy for dealing with fascists, but we have crystal clear, official policy to kill terrorists.

Joe Biden went from laughing stock of the Dem establishment to lovable Joe partly off the strength of "this is a big fucking deal" and other choice language, so can miss me with this "cursing doesn't help anyone" talk.

So to answer your question: yes, give it time.

Such a good line...🤣🤣🤣

Even if I bought the BS about it "mimicking Trump," it's irrelevant. The entire reason you curse in public is bc it makes you appear relatable.

And in this image economy where Dems are overwhelmingly seen as stuffy DC robots, anything that breaks that image, even when it's forced, is a good thing
blackskyeddie.blacksky.app
Childish? Just like they used to say about politicians wearing jeans and rolled up sleeves? That kind of childish?

IDGAF how much Trump curses. This has nothing to do with him. It has to do with looking relatable and trustworthy, which is what studies have shown cursing does.

You're killing it. Keep up the good work...👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿

If Pritzker wants to steal momentum from Newsom, his best tactic is going to be to dial in on the racist attacks on Black/Brown Americans by Trump.

And the first step is locking arms with Brandon Johnson. Pritzker has a chance to pretty much capture the Black Biden bloc wholesale, if he does that.

This is why I've been saying for years that we shouldn't be trying to control SCOTUS. We should be trying to NEUTER it. Strip away as much power and authority from the entire institution as possible because in their history they have done far more harm than good.

It's the first Monday in October which means the Supreme Court is back in session. Here's my preview of all the cruelty and evil they will visit upon us this term.

That's who David Pakman reminds me of!

Every time I see Pakman's face, I can't put my finger on who he looks like. It's the main dude from that show.

Jesus he's gonna be busy knocking them all out. The first biopic that shot straight for the quadrilogy.

It means you can't be afraid to put yourself in positions that you know the authorities will try to use the threat of force to dissuade you.

Part of the valor in resisting and protesting is accepting the punishment. Civil rights leaders from all walks of life for the history of our country have always embraced that mantra and never shied away from being perpwalked for a just cause

That doesn't mean go out and punch a cop though.

There are no studies on the "authenticity" of swearing. It's a ham-fisted idea to say that you can rate how authentic someone swearing is.

The point of swearing is that it breaks social taboos. There's no inauthentic way to break social taboos, even if you're looking over your shoulder to do it

As a Floridian it cost me $100 to fill up my F-250 every three days but I save money by not sending my children to college nor having healthcare.

Cursing is exactly the same virtue signaling as wearing jeans and a rolling up your sleeves.

How well you do it is irrelevant to the actual action of doing it. No one cares how authentic you're rolled up shirt sleeves look, just like no one cares how authentic your cursing is.
blackskyeddie.blacksky.app
Here's the thing about cursing: even if you do it "badly"... It. Still. Works.

The entire point of doing it is to show you will break out of DC robot politician mode and say things you're not supposed to say.

It's literally why there are studies that say cursing makes you seem more relatable.
blackskyeddie.blacksky.app
Yes it does. Even when it's transparently pandering. It's just the new version of rolled up sleeves and jeans. The entire point is to show that you can break out of DC politician mode.

Cursing and beards today are no different than rolled up sleeves and jeans were for outreach to the blue collar bloc in 90s/2000s.

The entire point of doing it is to show that you're not locked into typical DC politician mode all the time, even if that advice is obviously coming from DC consultants

Are you expecting a sound bite that literally dropped hours ago to immediately change anything? That's not how narratives are shaped to begin with, let alone broken.
blackskyeddie.blacksky.app
You're so wrong on this. Swearing is exactly the type of thing that breaks the narrative around Democrats, even if it's obviously pandering. What easier way to break the perception that you're a boring stick in the mud that's more concerned about propriety than helping than just dropping a "fuck"?
