Fully integrated phones, with batteries that aren't replaceable makes sense, because thinner and lighter are more desirable than ability to upgrade components or customisation. That tradeoff doesn't apply to vehicles though, where cars have been getting bigger in every dimension for decades.

In the same way that some SaaS products compete with Excel, yes, there is a slightly better alternative out there now. And the moat is narrower.

Agree that vibecoding = prototyping.

But! If a cheap working prototype gets you feedback that your idea DOESN’T resonate with customers, it has indeed saved you from wasting time and money on the 90%.
