Considering that the new 2025 lineup has just been released this year, including the 4-bay version, it is a great time to get one.

Never had any similar issues, but maybe #ActiveBackupForBusiness would be a better fit (also from #Synology)

As a #Plex user for over 18y, I can say only good things about it. However if you want to go pure #selfhost you might have a look at #Jellyfin as well.

If you are comfortable with a "locked" eco-system, #Synology will offer a rock solid platform with lots of features and models to choose from. With X25 models and the "hdd locking" it needs to be said that changes are coming on that front as well. Still, if you need freedom, best to look elsewhere.
