Hi, I'm Inky, and this is my new pinned post! I love to write and crochet about my favorite games (mainly DAI and DOS2), and the replies below contain active threads for the fanworks I create, including my fics, amigurumi, screenshots, amis for sale, and whatever else I decide to stick here. 🖤

The desk is black and has the monitor (with one of my Blackwall screenshots as the background) on the upper level. Sitting around the monitor are a lit DAI lamp, Thom and Mira minis from @InkyBlackFire, Thom and Mira funko pops, a jar of markers, the first BG3 owlbear I ever crocheted (with a Blackwall pin on its chest patch), and a small nug crocheted from my own pattern sitting on the owlbear ami's leg.

The lower part of the desk has a wired keyboard and mouse, both sitting on a flora of Thedas oversized mousepad, and behind it, beneath the upper part of the desk, are candles, most of them from fandom (Ifan, Blackwall, Halsin). In front of the desk is a comfy blue chair. Sitting in the chair is a giant crocheted nug, looking at the monitor with its hands resting on the desk near the keyboard. On the back of the chair is a crocheted lap blanket designed to look like Blackwall's gambeson.

All crochet pieces were crocheted by me, and all are my designs/freehanded, aside from the giant nug, which was worked up in blanket yarn using the pattern by Martina Sůkalová.

The art visible on the wall (there's more out of frame and on other walls) are by various artists, including @knutty, @InkyBlackfire, and @deathsgarden

For today's #DAFanFriday, I crocheted myself the Blackwall ami of my dreams 🖤🛡️

I cannot overstate the amount of time, effort, and love that went into making this. I'm obsessed (and my hands hurt).

A (freehanded!) crocheted Blackwall (Dragon Age Inquisition) amigurumi, standing outside in the early morning sunlight in front of the branches of a pine tree. His arms are folded across his chest as he looks up and into the camera. He is 18"/46cm tall.

He's wearing his casual outfit—brown gambeson, dark brown boots and gloves—and each piece of his clothing is detailed.

His gambeson has white X stitching on his right upper arm, a belt (with a buckle, belt holes, and a "leather" strap to keep the tail down), a collar, ties and clasps down the front, and beneath the gambeson, a metallic chain shirt (peeking out from the open part beneath his belt, and a lighter tunic showing just beneath the very bottom of the gambeson.

His boots and gloves are belted, and each belt has buckles, belt holes, and most have the same "leather" strap to hold the tails down. His gloves also are gloves, not mittens, so each hand has five fingers and a thumb. His boots are flat and dark grey on the bottoms, so he can stand (with some support).

A belt is cinched around his waist, and beneath it is red/brown padding with white trim. This belt has a round buckle (all the other buckles on his outfit are square). Additionally, the belt is overly large, as it is in game, and so it loops around itself and hangs a bit—visible in pictures I'll put in the replies.

His face is highly detailed and sculpted, using multiple sculpting techniques. His nose is crooked and protrudes from his face, his hair, including beard and mustache, are brushed yarn (and then needle felted to shape his facial hair and brows). His eyes are needle felted as well, and chalk pastels were used to color and shade his face to the best of my ability. Small amounts of chalk pastels were also used on his hair to lighten parts of his beard and temples.

And, in all of that, I only stabbed myself with the felting needle once! :D

Same, honestly. I really really reallyyyy hated the deep roads at first, but the more I've replayed, the more I enjoy (most) of them and genuinely hate DAOs Fade. Though, to be fair, that's probably partially because the fade somehow makes me motion sick. I think it's all the green light/haziness.
