Yes, you are correct that N95 is a respirator. When I said respirator I meant to refer to this type.

You really aren't.

You are doing relative morality and I'm saying slaughtering people is a redline. Full stop. End of story.

*nods slowly* "Yesssssss" because we have seen it happen in the 26 counties that kicked the British empire out in 1922. It is only in the British empire occupied 6 that the divisions remained.

Alex is continually, willfully, ignorant and blind to reality.
September 6, 2025 at 4:34 PM
More willful bad faith arguing.

The name won't be changed, the entity will cease to exist. Just as the Irish state healed the rift between "Planter and Gael" a UI will do the same for Unionists and Nationalists in the 6 counties.
September 6, 2025 at 4:34 PM
None so blind as those who refuse to see.

There will be NO accommodations for Unionism in a UI. They burned that bridge by voting for Brexit with the hope of a hard border on the island.

Decades asking Unionism what accommodations they wanted in a UI. They refused to engage.
September 6, 2025 at 4:34 PM
No. After winning the border poll, uniting our country, ending the root cause of division - the existence of NI - we will not be keeping NI around for Unionists to keep the place a basket case.

This is the ultimate bad faith of Unionism - expecting Nationalism to keep NI around.
September 6, 2025 at 4:34 PM
No there won't be. Unionists were asked for decades what accommodations could be made in a UI to make them more comfortable. Every time they were asked the arrogantly, rudely dismissed the questions as acquiescing to a UI. After voting for Brexit no one is offering any.
September 6, 2025 at 4:34 PM
That Nationalist flame was nurtured and fed by the brutal one party sectarian, apartheid state the UUP (Alex's party) ran for 50 years.

That did not happen in the Irish state, and will not happen in a UI. Bad faith arguing by Alex.

"I can't imagine" well at least some honesty.
September 6, 2025 at 4:34 PM
I’m asking the question not because I believe unity is either inevitable or even likely any time soon, but because those who champion it seem vague on the answers which have been advanced so far.
September 6, 2025 at 4:34 PM
The Special Powers Act of Northern Ireland that was the envy of the South African apartheid regime.
September 6, 2025 at 4:34 PM
It didn't because Alex's party (UUP) instituted a 1 party, sectarian, apartheid state with a militarized police force (RUC), paramilitary force (B-Specials) with the Special powers Act that brutalized the Nationalist population and ensured there was never going to be integration.

"My own view" everyone paying attention has been saying this for decades. No one is asking Unionism to give up their identity in a UI.

Brilliant. Finally realizing what everyone has been saying. Progress I guess.
September 6, 2025 at 4:34 PM
No, not everything, just to the problems caused by the existence of NI. NI is the fundamental problem and a UI removes it.

At least Alex has moved on from the "Million Unionists in a UI" to the more accurate hundreds of thousands of Unionists in a UI. Progress.
September 6, 2025 at 4:34 PM
Alex asks a good question "How can Northern Ireland ever work?" It cannot. That is the basis of the argument that removing NI is the first step of resolving the fundamental problems we face.
September 6, 2025 at 4:34 PM
Alex is correct here but leaves out the reason- the Assembly is a failure because Unionists have made it a failure.
September 6, 2025 at 4:34 PM
It would because it would remove the fundamental problem - the existence of Northern Ireland. That has been clear for over a hundred years.

The US is working hard to supplant the UK as the world's greatest evil empire, so anything that reduces, damages US power is good for the rest of the world.

If anyone is going to suffer from US policies it should be Americans first.

Looks like Trump was the lesser evil not Harris.

Dems are going to lose the midterms in '26 and the presidency in '28 all because they are eager accomplices to the genocide of Palestinians.

If you can flee this country, then flee this country.

Blue MAGA demands the Left vote for the Blue MAGA ghoul or else but refuses to accept a Leftist demanding they pick a better candidate or else.

In '29 this idiot will be back yelling at the Left because they followed through on promise not to vote for their Blue MAGA ghoul.
