Pooja Saxena is a typeface designer, lettering artist and typographer. She is best known for her work with Indic scripts and her writing on locally rooted typographic cultures. Pooja is a devoted collector of ephemera and chronicler of street lettering. Since 2017, she has maintained an online archive of letterforms on public signs around the country. Nia Thandapani is an independent design historian and practising graphic designer and book maker based in Bangalore. Her work spans colonial and post-independence design history in India and the United Kingdom, with a focus on how questions of power, coloniality and public memory play out in museums, heritage spaces and design practice today. Barring a couple of incidents in the book, the anti-caste narrative is rarely explicit. But the book invites us to revisit our ideas of otherness, to question rules, examine traditions, and abandon preconceived notions. It urges us to recognise injustice when we see it, no matter how normalised it may be. The forbidden places turn out to be safe enough, after all. The woodcutter is an arhat. The calves that must be slaughtered year after year — well. They appease no god."

How to Care for a Starving Boy After Death The anatomy of each Starving Boy is unique—sometimes devastatingly tasty, sometimes nightmarish and sometimes not very interesting. After it dies, you may want to discard the Starving Boy entirely. It is always best to do so beside a national highway, preferably in a place where people abandon their dogs when they have decided they are too big or too troublesome to keep. Dispose of the Starving Boy along with the box because what else are you going to do with it. If you decide to keep the body of the Starving Boy, you may want to carve it for display as a conversation piece.
