For Frodo.
The fact that the republicans control a stronger coalition based solely on the fear of Trump repercussions beats the dems coalition after a major win proves that Washington runs on the rich corporate elite and not the people. We need Nuremberg for the dems as well

I think it’s notable that a shut down is not, by any means, popular with democrats. A good litmus test for where the country is - fascism is okay if one is still comfortable

Not even a New Yorker, but I can’t help but finally feel good about something in the news

How am I not supposed to hate Trump supporters? Where should my contempt go? The blundering dems? The morally corrupt repubs? Thousands are now or will be unemployed for no reason to include friends and family. I wonder if I will soon be on the chopping block

The fact they’re covering their faces does not bode well.
This is America, 2025

In one weekend (!!), one New York Times photographer, Doug Mills, travels from Gitmo to the Super Bowl to take two unforgettable images of where we're at as a nation

I’m honestly quite ready to tussle. Take that for whatever you think it means.

Go anywhere else in the world that’s not the west and this fool is strangely a hero. Which stresses the importance of truth and fact in a world full of disinformation and posturing. But also, democracy is not a value widely held outside of the west
OPINION: The very things that make President-elect Donald Trump’s return so scary for many Europeans are what make him attractive to the rest of the world.

Washington Post *was* way too resistance-brained but Bezos' solution is to just swing wildly in the opposite direction
Washington Post editorial board endorses every Trump nominee for confirmation except Gabbard, Hegseth, RFK Jr. and Vought

Long gone are the days of hope. America is not able to handle corruption like other western democracies. So blatant is the oligarchical cabal, expecting anyone with power to do the right thing is futile.
Roberts has a huge legal, ethical and reputational nightmare on his hands with Alito and he should be pondering what this is doing to the Supreme Court long-term as an institution.

An absolute tone deaf response from the dem elite. Not surprising, however.
Chuck Schumer blames Democratic losses on "average working families who didn't realize how much we had done and how much we care for them."

The cognitive dissonance of Trump voters is truly astounding
A Washington Post-University of Maryland poll finds Americans split on whether President-elect Donald Trump will try to rule as a dictator, but confident any effort would be be blocked.
Majority of Americans oppose Trump’s proposals to test democracy’s limits
