I’m not saying it cannot be used in helpful ways, but I am saying that I think it’s important that all students continue to feel and know that they don’t NEED AI to think or write.

Students their age (15-18) don’t need it for thinking tasks like initial brainstorming and interpretation. No reason to outsource. I can ask the same questions of work they write without AI.

Yes! My strategy right now is to constantly remind students that they don’t need AI to think or write. I’ve stopped telling them why they shouldn’t and increased how often I explain why they don’t need to.
