I’ll introduce myself. My name is Blake and I make art with mostly focusing on comics. I have a webcomic called The Ocean’s Call that I am going to be revamping due to the story and the art. I’m working on getting back to doing art more after having a major health issue for quite a few years.

good thread here! ymmv but for me, the physical burden is present but less destructive than the mental/emotional load. for others like me i'd like to emphasize the points here about forgiving yourself readily, accepting the difference in productivity day to day, and for fuck's sake, go outside

Hey, I don't know who needs to hear this but queer comics are worth fighting. I mean it, there is no other storytelling like it and I will fight for them until the end of time. I thought I didn't like reading because that was not me. No, just nobody was telling a story that meant anything.

Doing comics is a solitary work that takes a lot of time. You can't imagine the boost of energy that it is when someone tells you your work has resonated with them tho, makes it worth all the effort!
