Surely Trump and you know the rise of the far right all over Europe and here should make us at least a bit sceptical that ‘deliverisim’ would be enough to stop reform?

Is this linked to at George’s flags roundabouts?

My first thought was why is Polishness the opposite of personal authenticity

Sorry that was sarcasm from me

I am being slightly lazy by not just looking at research myself but is there a good reason to doubt equalising CGT w income tax wouldn’t raise considerable funds?

I still agree that any thorough analysis of this govt requires recognising the leftish economic policy as you say though
March 29, 2025 at 12:59 PM
Leftish because of Starmers politics or more because of political space ? I think the latter probs has more to do with it considering this govts lack of back bone to attacks from the right in most areas. Compare labours platform to onward 2019 report on politics of belonging

Two things can be true at once
March 29, 2025 at 12:43 PM
Again, the self imposed constraints basically means the govt cannot have a coherent set of policies . Without the space for proper investment, their aims of getting more people working *and* ‘making work pay’ just aren’t compatible

February 3, 2025 at 11:19 PM
Yeah i think he clearly does have a problem with being trigger happy on giving harsh decisions to some teams. But I still think the bigger scandal was the fact it wasn’t corrected. From certain angles the challenge does look a bit nasty (studs slightly up on the heel) but replays show it’s a yellow
January 28, 2025 at 11:05 AM
Surely the problem w the red card on Saturday was the VAR, not Oliver as much? Yes , it was a mistake from him but the fact VAR saw no reason for correcting it is far more problematic . Think your point is still valid though

My bad
January 22, 2025 at 2:24 PM
How can Brexit possibly be considered a bigger issue than the climate and environment ? Just because it’s talked about more doesn’t make it more important
January 22, 2025 at 2:13 PM
Agree that this will always be slightly the case. Think a problem is everything is put in the language of growth. But growth for what? Think where there is a problem is the failure to articulate what the changes they are making will long term achieve
January 22, 2025 at 9:49 AM
My understanding was specific firms laying off workers or reducing recruitment, but yeah big picture unemployment is unaffected. Which I assume is what reeves etc is hoping for

Thanks, I think another underrated one to add is primary colours - Emma Thompson and John Travolta make very interesting Clintons
