As Joel Embiid once said, trust the process. We can’t expect instant turnarounds, but this hire gives real reason for hope.

The question now is whether Colorado management allows Byrnes & DePodesta to build the foundation they believe in.

Byrnes shared that he believes what matters most is process: scouting, player development, analytics, individualized player growth. He and DePodesta say it begins by "raising the floor".

He and DePodesta go way back — they worked together as scouts and front-office staff in Cleveland in the 1990s. They say their shared history, combined experience give them complementary strengths to rebuild Colorado.

Won't be. The Rox just posted a 43-119 season, worst in franchise history.

Byrnes isn’t new to the role — he spent 2011-14 as GM of the San Diego Padres and 2005-10 with the Arizona Diamondbacks. He also spent the last 11 years as the Dodgers’ senior vice president of baseball operations.

Matt Daniels (director of pitching): Driveline OG. Has been a key pitching influence in the Twins org for 3 years but did a lot of pitch science work with SFG prior. May be best signing of the offseason

All have analytical experience and have been development focused professionals for several yrs.
