Lovely day. Full speed ahead. I've already done correx on two issues, designed a logo, and now I'm lettering some pages of an unannounced project...later I'll be back working on Project PixelPanel. Listening to The Black Crowes in the studio. (The new album--Happiness Bastards--is REALLY good.)

Lovely day. Lettering two projects today that are unannounced, so I can't really elaborate. Listening to Megadeth in the studio.

I believe you’re correct, but I’m not a comics historian—I usually defer to Todd on that stuff.

It's wild that we still don't have a commonly accepted comic script format. Basically every script I get is different from the next, with varying levels of technical or layout issues. (But hey, we're all out here doing our best.)

Keep your letterer happy with these tips from @blambot.bsky.social 🥰
Tips from comic book letterer Nate Piekos about how to prepare a script for lettering use. These include writing in sentence case and sending the script in Word or other text-based format.

There’s a large part of the creative process that involves hours or days of experimentation. Unfortunately, when experimentation leads nowhere, it feels like you wasted a lot of time. The hard part is reminding yourself that you learned what DIDN’T work, and that’s very important.

Eh...now I don't know if I'm in agreement. I think I like the Revised version best. You gotta go down these roads to see if they lead anywhere. Maybe this one didn't.

I've heard you and I'm in agreement, I think: If you've been following along, you've seen my progress on Project Pixel Panel. Most of you liked the low-res 8-bit look of the original. Some of you liked the added style of the Revised--so I've tried creating a hybrid...

Lovely day and happy Friday. I'm Johnny-on-the-spot today; jumping back and forth between three different projects today. Listening to the velvet tones of the legendary Lou Rawls in the studio.

I was digging through an old notebook today, and I found my progress chart when I was writing The Essential Guide to Comic Book Lettering. As I hit each new goal, I checked it off…Until I was done two years later!

I wasn't happy with the Regular weight of Project Pixel Panels, so I took some time today to start redesigning it. Here's the before and after. I think that's looking better.
