Carrots grown at Blanchet Farm and chanterelle mushrooms harvested from the surrounding forest were on the menu! Blanchet Farm offers a safe place to gain sobriety by participating in meaningful work like gardening.

Erik learned you can't force someone into recovery. It has to be their choice because recovery isn’t only about stopping use; it’s about facing the pain underneath. "Recovery is like planting a seed. You can’t make it grow overnight." Learn how Erick guides people to recovery at bit.ly/47fsqyQ

Big news! We finally got our permit to begin renovating our new women’s shelter, Bethanie's Room. We’ll turn a former bike shop into a warm, trauma-informed space where women can feel safe at night. Thank you to everyone who donated to make this dream a reality.

Amid unrest in Portland and uncertainty around funding and social services, Blanchet House is here for our community members in need of food, clean clothing, and connection. We know that when systems fail, community care matters most. Thank you to our volunteers and supporters who make it possible.

Meet Brittany. "Working at Blanchet House taught me that hospitality doesn’t need to be elaborate. It needs to be consistent. It needs to be human." Read more from Bittany at http://bit.ly/4nWgQ1c.

At the end of the month, when paychecks and benefits run out, the line for a meal at Blanchet House grows especially long. This morning we served 472 plates. Amid the crowd, our peer support specialist Charitie is there offering encouragement and helping connect people to vital resources.

Got milk? 🥛 Rising costs are making it harder to keep up with the demand for milk at Blanchet House. If you’re coming to volunteer, we’d be grateful if you could bring a gallon with you to share with our guests. A huge thank you to volunteers Tom and Francesca for donating milk this week!

A few of the guys staying with us at Blanchet Farm foraged for chanterelle mushrooms. They’ll be on the menu at The Blind Pig restaurant in Carlton! “It’s great for us to get out deep in the forest, sometimes on our hands and knees, looking for these beauties,” says Don.

Our staff spent hours with agencies and missing persons reports before learning she had a home, but forgot where it was. She's now home. Blanchet is more than meals. We're a hub for people in need.
