Too weird to live, too rare to die. I created Sagexpo.org a long time ago, dabbling in game development for 20+ years. They used to pay me to write. People seem to like my Youtube videos.

I imagine when you open this it's like that scene in the Brendan Fraiser Mummy where they open the sarcophagus

Slamming on the brakes as hard as possible at what he says at the end of this clip. Tires squealing, skid marks, the whole nine yards.

The state of media literacy these days

And if he thinks King Kong is wild with its HUDless presentation, sit him down in front of Trespasser and see if he comes away from it with anything more than "this game sucks."

Historically, Half-Life in 1998 was the birth of the "cinematic game" and it triggered a massive genre shift that started SEVEN YEARS before that King Kong game. Ask boomer shooter fans, they'll tell you. Half-Life is what closed the book on games like Quake for a LONG time.

I like Noodle's videos enough but man I've hit two in a row where he exposes how young he is. Here, he's freaking out over King Kong (2005) making such bold claims as it being "before everyone was trying to make cinematic games" and it being "a movie licensed game with no hud" and how crazy that is.

Discord challenge to draw Garfield from memory. I drew him in school tons and tons but probably haven't drawn him even once since then, so it's been 20+ years. Got lots of stuff wrong

Sometimes it hits me how far reaching some TSSZ things could be. Browsing through Sonic Unleashed concept art now, I stopped and saw this tucked inside. This is the article badge I made for TSSZ's coverage of CEDEC in 2008. Which means many of these probably came from TSSZ's article, that I wrote

Shoutouts to these movies that aren't quite next to each other but are close enough

Getting enough Google survey money that I can think about buying a movie and I'm currently scrolling through the "Top Sellers" on Google's movie store. It's totally baffling because 90% of the movies in here are things I've NEVER heard of.

Also we are in the fourth or fifth year of this Kermit voice and I still can't get used to him. They found good soundalikes for Jim Henson's other muppets, but intentionally hired a Kermit that sounds nothing like Jim's most iconic character. It's a weird choice.

Watched The Muppet Show one off. It's kind of weird. Imagine if they stopped doing SNL for 45 years and then randomly made a new episode like nothing was different while also being like "I dunno, maybe we'll do more, maybe we won't." Weird mix of treating it like just another episode.

Every now and then I still have fun in this game

I had heard Youtube's algorithm has changed to prioritize showing you a lot more Shorts, but, uh....

The crystal spider is pretty cool, I guess. I haven't seen this movie probably since I was 7 years old, but I still remember this thing clear as day.

And absolutely nothing else.
