Yup, the father thing was more of a joke, but Maggie's mother worked as a PR person for Trump companies.
In newspapers I worked at, Maggie would never have been covering Trump, because of the rule "avoid conflicts of interest, real or perceived" spelled out in the SPJ Code of Ethics.

The polls in the weeks leading up to the election were a dead heat. Trump beat Harris by less that 2%.
There's been no evidence of rigged election machines.
I despise Trump, but he was, as far as I can see, legitimately put in power by a bunch of morons and racists.

I believe the R's are lying in wait - when Trump's approval rating hits <30, they move on him like a bitch. They grab him by the 25th Amendement and then Vance is the new king. So it won't be much better... but Vance does not have a magical hold over the Magas, so things could turn.

They never expected the R’s to support ACA. The move was to force a stand-alone vote so R’s completely own it.
Whether I agree with that strategy is a different matter altogether. I think they should have stood firm.
