Anyway, an interesting movie, glad I saw it. Would recommend it cuz it’s cute. I don’t think I would ever need to watch it again, but I’d still chose this over the Super Bowl any time.

One of the commenters on this video claims to have sat with his uncle who worked on this film as well as Grease, and doesn’t have any of the art from then due to his medical problems.

Everyone is ok in the end though, as Mahitabell is beloved by all in the alley and returns with triumph. (I can’t help but think she left her kittens in the uptown house, so hopefully that it the unspoken resolution to that!).

It’s obviously an adult movie and makes ZERO effort to coddle the audience from the cockroach’s su*cide attempts, drunkenness, and the fact that Mahitabell is always chasing tomcats, and even tries to k*ll her own babies.

Kind of a messed up world though, as the cockroach explains that the animals are reincarnated humans, who even recognize each other from their human life, yet differentiate between themselves and “humans” multiple times. Does that mean if I kill some bugs I’m killing someone I used to know?

Overall, it’s alright. I appreciate that it’s not too preachy, and the moral of the story is to just accept people…. I guess?

It’s a musical about the animals that live in this alley. The story centers around a cockroach who’s in love with Mahitabell, the yellow alley cat, and tries to get her to make a better life for herself.
