Happy to share work spearheaded by former grad student Colin Shew testing shared duplicated cis regulatory elements (CREs) using an MPRA. While we find some high effect CREs, collectively paralog differences represent modest effects accounting for observed gene expression divergence.

🔬How humans can study their own brain? Answering this question necessitates multimodal and multiscale approaches, among them human brain tissue, the topic of this issue.Every biological technology and approach cannot be accessible by each of those approaches on its own.

🧪 I summarize what we know on the evolution of human neurons: they are slow to mature and very calm. I begin to elaborate discussions on robustness and evolvability of divergent cellular processes (e.g. synaptic neoteny) and neuronal diversity beyond transcriptomic cell type identity.

Ever wondered how robust cellular identity is to external perturbations? Here we disrupt cellular environmnent in vivo and in vitro, and find cell population specific sensitivities. Environment sculpts development yes, but not all cells are made of the same wood. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

Au delà des infrastructures il y a aussi un gros travail à faire sur le comportement automobiliste marseillais : accélération sur les passages piétons quand quelqu'un traverse, non respect des feux rouges et priorités, accélération sur les vélos aux ronds-points etc.

The cerebellum isn’t just about coordinating movement. It’s implicated in nearly every domain of cognition—from language to social behavior.

But how exactly does the cerebellum contribute to action and cognition? 🧵

Cerebellar Contributions to Action and Cognition: Prediction, Timescale, and Continuity
The cerebellum is implicated in nearly every domain of human cognition, yet our understanding of how this subcortical structure contributes to cognition remains elusive. Efforts on this front have ten...
