A St Louis animal rescue group tried this, letting dogs be paired with prisoners to train them and make them more adoptable. It was successful for a couple years but one man killed the dog he’d been entrusted with so they canceled the program. None of the inmates were in for violent crimes either.

I have a (now) retired biologist friend that was working on experiments with exactly this about 10 years ago & he already told me we had passed the point of any possible growth benefit then. :(

A big problem with sufferers of narcissistic personality disorder is that they are eternal optimists. They really believe their own bullsh¡t. That’s one good reason why they should never be allowed to have any influence over long-term plans, policy or – especially – any kind of risk management.
