I'd like to think that aliens have all sorts of different and unique pets compared to ours which fit their cultures more, but it's hard to argue against the benefits of a pet that is distinctly dog-like (at least in character and tendencies).

I see a lot of people taking issue with certain aspects of it here and there, but it's hard not to think they just didn't want sci-fi that was going to be this bold. At least not in Alien.

While I understand allistic attachment to bodies, it doesn't change the fact that when I'm dead anything that was 'me' is long gone from this wet bag of bones.
Friends really don't understand that I'd literally be fine with it being thrown in the trash at that point.
